Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Sean Harte (Queens Village, N.Y.) and senior Gianna Smith (Hempstead, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of February 4, 2008.

Harte competed in two events at the Thomson Invitational, hosted by the University of Delaware on Saturday, February 2. In his only individual event Harte captured the Division II/III title, running the mile in 4:31.81. He also ran the second leg of the 4x800 meter relay team, helping the Panthers capture first place in a time of 8:11.98.

Adelphi returns to action on Friday, February 8 when they travel to New York, New York fo compete in the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.

Smith helped the Panthers to a 2-0 last week in conference play with convincing wins over both NYIT and Concordia. Smith averaged 16.0 ppg and 9.0 rpg on the week and shot 50% from the field. Her week included a 26 point effort against the Clippers.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, February 9 when they travel to Sparkill, New York for a 1:00 pm game against St. Thomas Aquinas.
