Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University sophomore Ian Kuchta (Norwalk, CT) and junior Ify Anene (Reynoldsburg, OH) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of April 7, 2008.

Kuchta scored seven goals on eight shots in Adelphi's 15-14 overtime loss to C.W. Post. Kuchta, scored six of the Panthers last nine goals, including three of the last five.

The Panthers return to action on April 12 when they play host to NYIT at James M. Shuart stadium on the campus of Hofstra University.

Anene set a school record and posted another top-five finish at the Princeton Sam Howell invitational. She placed 17th overall in the 5000 meter run, shattering the school record by 26 seconds with a time of 18:12.96. Anene also placed fifth in the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:53.99, missing out on another school record by less then four seconds.

Adelphi returns to the track on Saturday, April 12 when they travel to Kings Point, New York to compete in the Coach "O" Invitational.
