Garden City, N.Y. - he Adelphi University Department of Athletics and Athletic Director Robert Hartwell have announced the release of golf coach Scott Allen, effective Wednesday, April 9. An interim coach will be named shortly and a search for a replacement will begin upon completion of the current season.

The Panthers are currently ranked second in the Northeast Region, finishing third in their most recent tournament, the Peter King Memorial Tournament hosted by Dowling College. In that tournament Adelphi placed two golfers in the top-10 and have posted seven top-five finishes this fall, including a first place finish at the Army Junior Mule Kicker Fall Classic.

Golf is scheduled to return to action on April 21 when they travel to Springfield, Massachusetts to compete in the American International College Yellow Jacket Intercollegiate Golf Classic.
