Adelphi Swimming Travels To Albany To Race The Golden Knights

Results

Albany, NY - Adelphi Swimming traveled to Albany, New York to race the College of St. Rose Golden Knights. Both competitions remained tight, but in end, the men were able to swim to their eighth victory of the season, 112-107, while the women fell to the Golden Knights for their fourth loss, 140-64. The Men move to 8-1 and the women sit at .500, 4-4.

Highlighting the Men's competition were Brendan Berry and Zachary Terzano. In the 1000-yard freestyle, Berry was able put 11 seconds on second place finisher Mike Buyes and hit the wall at 10:19.41. This marks Berry's third meet hitting an ECAC "B" cut in this event. In the 200-yard freestyle, Terzano chased a NCAA "B" cut and only missed by seconds with his 1:44.06 and first place finish. Twelve events later, Terzano came back with a win in the 100 free. Also seeing wins against the Golden Knights were Alex Griffith in the 200 IM's and Andrew Meditz in the 100 breast.

The women came alive in the 200-yard freestyle, picking up six points by Kristina Shine, Jacquelyn Birkel and Jennifer Scarnati finishing in spots 3-5 respectfully. Shine was able to come back in the 100 free and swim 1:00.83 for a second place finish. The trio of Kelly Mark, Scarnati and Allison Megherian in the 500 free placed 2-4 for nine points. Amanda Knapp was the Panthers lone event winner in the 100 breast stroke at 1:17.42.

The Panthers will next travel to Hoboken, NJ to take on Steven's Tech in their last duel meet of the 2007-08 season on February 2.
