Philadelphia, PA - The Adelphi University track and field team traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 24, 25 and 26 to compete in the 114th annual PENN Relays. The men captured the Collegiate Track Conference 4x400 meter title, while the women broke two school records. Obed Bienne, Bailey Ince, Aaron Warner and Mark Pollard teamed up to capture the CTC 4x400 meter title. The Panthers season best time of 3:20.64 was almost a second ahead of second place St. Peter's and was tops out of 12 teams. The men's sprint medley relay also competed, as Billy Gabrell, Kwesi Peters, Jeff Perez and Sean Harte posted a season best time of 3:41.87. On the women's side, Morgan Russell, Claudine Petit, Danielle Lyons and Heather Troutman combined to shatter two school records. The 4x400 meter relay broke the existing school record by almost 15 seconds, posting a time of 4:05.28, placing third in the CTC section. The same group broke the school record in the sprint medley relay by almost a minute, clocking in at 4:15.29. Adelphi returns to action on May 3 when they travel to Kings Point, New York to compete in the Kings Point Invitational. |
