Kings Point, N.Y. - The Adelphi University track and field team traveled to Kings Point, New York to compete in the Kings Point Invitational, hosted by the United States Merchant Marine Academy. The Panthers posted a combined 13 top-five finishes, including three event wins.

Danielle Connor, Ify Anene and Melissa Coelho all picked up first place finishes. Connor bettered her previous personal best in the 5000 meter run by 34 seconds, clocking in at 18:27.66, almost two minutes ahead of second place. Anene took home first in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:21.58.

Coelho out lasted teammate Danielle Matteo in the 3000 meter run, crossing thet line at 11:01.87, while Matteo took second in a personal best of 11:06.08. Kristin Eberhardt also placed in the top-five in the 3000 meter run in a time of 11:37.32.

Margaret Penner placed fourth in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:34.48, while Morgan Russell took third in the 100-meter hurdles, 16.63. Both of Adelphi's 4x400 meter relay teams placed in the top-five, posting times of 4:26.40 and 4:41.37.

The men posted four top-five finishes, led by Jeff Perez in the 800 meter run (2:03.97) and Adam Clark in the 3000 meter run (9:20.27). Tom Eickelberg and Billy Gabrell also placed in the to five, with Eickelberg taking fifth in the 3000 meter run (9:47.21) and Gabrell finishing fourth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:03.06).

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, May 10 when they compete at the NYC Qualifying Challenge at Ichan Stadium.
