At Valley Stream South High School: Three-year letterwinner in soccer...four-year letter winner in track...earned all-division honors as both a freshman and junior...all-conference in the 4x800 as a freshman and a senior...earned all-division honors in the 3000 meters her junior and senior years...named track mvp her junior and senior years...also lettered two years in basketball...a member of the athletic honor society for four years...senior awards received include the Paul Grammatico Memorial Scholarship Award, outstanding senior athlete and most athletic award (2004-05).

Personal: Daughter of Tony and Jan Matteo...born October 13, 1987...an art major...enjoys playing soccer, running, art-drawing and the diving team...has three sisters, Jennifer, Geanna and Paris, and two brothers, Anthony and Matthew.
