Tom Ruane begins his 16th year as the top assistant coach for Adelphi men’s soccer. Ruane, a 2002 Adelphi University Hall of Fame inductee, assists Bob Montgomery with on-field coaching. A four-year starter for the Panthers under Montgomery from 1981-84, Ruane earned All-Region honors in 1983. He was named to the All-New York State Regional Team in 1983 and an alternate for the 1983 Senior Bowl. He also co-captained the team as a senior (four goals, six assists). A native of Dagenham, England, he graduated from Adelphi in 1984 with a degree in history. Ruane currently teaches in the Wantagh school district. |
