Figueiredo, Treglia, Hoffman and Holder to Play With the Long Island Rough Riders

Garden City, N.Y. - Four members of the Adelphi University men's soccer team will showcase their talents this summer as members of the Long Island Rough Riders. Seniors Patrick Figueiredo, Mark Hoffman and Vincent Treglia, along with sophomore Thorne Holder will compete in the Premier Development League (PDL) of the United Soccer League.

Figueiredo led the Panthers with 13 goals and 26 points last season and was named Atlantic Soccer Conference player of the year. In addition Figueiredo was on the M.A.C. Hermann trophy watch list and notched three game winning goals in 2007. Hoffman, who was an ASC first-team selection started all 18 games for Adelphi and scored one goal.

Treglia appeared in 13 games last season in goal, making 50 saves and giving up just 1.79 goals per game. He posted a 4-5-1 record in games started. Holder has seen time in goal for Trinidad & Tobago's under-20 and under-23 teams, including in CONCACAF qualifying games and in Olympic pool play.

Long Island posted a record of 7-6-3 overall in 2007, placing fourth in the PDL Northeast division. Adelphi alum Oliver Skelding, an all-region and all-conference selection, will also compete in a Rough Rider uniform this summer.

The Rough Riders opened their season on May 3 with a 1-1 tie with New Hampshire and will play their first home match on May 10 against Virginia, kick-off is set for 7:30 pm at Tully Park.
