June 23, 2005 Garden City, NY - On Saturday, June 11, Adelphi University celebrated Five Decades of Men's Soccer as part of its Reunion Weekend. Over 100 alumni, family and friends were on hand for the alumni soccer game and BBQ lunch. Special recognition awards were given out to Burt Cadicamo, Haig Drakanian, Art Leupold and Richard Turkel as members of the teams from 1954-59. Hall of Famers in attendance were also recognized. "It was extremely exciting to see the response and turnout of close to 100 soccer alumni and family that came out," Head Coach Bob Montgomery said. "Everyone had a great time sharing memories, seeing old friends and reconnecting with the university." The evening culminated with many of the soccer alumni staying for the President's Champagne Dinner in the University Center.
