Smyrna, TN - The Adelphi University bowling team traveled to Smyrna, Tennessee on Sunday, March 16 to close out the two day Music City Classic. The Panthers posted a record of 2-3 on the day and finished 5-6 at the two day event, bringing their season to a close at 66-67. Adelphi started the day strong as the 14th ranked Panthers took out #4 Central Missouri. The team of Crisitina Reale, Jennifer Ferraro, Dianna Molenko, Kristin Hayes, and Danielle Locurto battled back from a deficit with a final 197 Baker game to pick up a, 728-716 win. The Panthers continued their strong play, defeating #12 Southern University 719-669. Heather McGee, Reale, Ferraro, Molenko, and Locurto opened an early 32 pin lead and fired 200 and 211 games in the victory. Wisconsin-Whitewater topped the Panthers 603-707 in the third game of the day for Adelphi. The Panthers followed that up with a 589-747 loss to ninth ranked Minnesota State Mankato. Adelphi advanced to the Playoff pool, achieving a #4 ranking and drew Sacred Heart University in the first round. The #3 Pioneers topped Adelphi, 639-733. The Panthers travel to Elmwood Park, New Jersey for the NEWCBC Singles Championships on March 29, 2008. Freshman Kristin Hayes is the top seed heading into the tournament. |
