Coach Smith says, "Diana is the backbone of this Panther softball team. She hates to lose and is willing to do everything in her power to make sure that doesn't happen. DiPiano will be a mainstay at third base and has earned a spot in the heart of the 2008 lineup."

Honors & Awards: Northeast Regional All-Tournament Team (2007), NFCA First-Team All-Northeast Region (2007), NFCA Second-Team All-Northeast Region (2006), First-Team All-ECC (2007), Second-Team All-ECC (2006), NFCA Scholar-Athlete (2007).

2007: Started in all 52 games and led the team in doubles (17), homeruns (6) and runs batted in (36)...ranked third on team with a .343 batting average...ECC Baden Player of the Week (4/15)...ranked 59th in the NCAA in doubles/game (0.33).

2006: Started in 45 games for a .330 batting average...second on the team in home runs (4) and third in RBI (25)...recorded four RBI in conference wins over NYIT (4/1) and Concordia (4/22).

At Valley Stream South High School: An all-county selection and playoff mvp as a freshman...a three-time All-Long Island Selection...names to the all-state team her junior and senior years...as a senior was named Nassau County Pitcher of the Year...she also was the Nassau County strikeout record holder.

Personal: Daughter of Ralph and Lori DiPiano...born February 26...has one brother, Ralph...a sociology major with a minor in english...enjoys going to the beach, sleeping, shopping and coaching.
