Garden City, N.Y. - Four members of the Adelphi University softball team were selected to the 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Northeast All-Region second-team as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Seniors Julie Schaper and Dely Francisco along with junior Jessica Vogt and sophomore Katie Brophy were each recognized.

Schaper, the 2008 ECC Pitcher of the Year, has already been named an all-conference selection as well as a Daktronics First-Team All-Region pick. Franciso was also named to a first-team All-ECC selection and to the Daktronics second-team. Vogt and Brophy were also selected as second-team All-ECC honorees.

Each player is still eligible for NFCA All-America honors, with the final nominees announced next week. The Panthers (41-20) are currently participating in the NCAA Northeast Regional.
