ECC Women's Tennis Championship Final Four Set For October 10

Garden City, NY - With the East Coast Conference Team Championship Final Four set to begin Wednesday, October 10, Adelphi has captured the third seed with their 5-2 ECC record. The Panthers will face the number two seed Concordia College in the first round. The number one seed in the tournament will be the ECC regular season champion and host, Queens College, who will be playing fourth seed Dowling College in match two.

Alda Ribeiro (Del Ray Beach, FL) will look to lead the Panthers during ECC play at the number one singles spot. Ribeiro finished the season unbeaten in the ECC, 6-0, and 7-1 overall. Amanda Aniboli (West Islip, N.Y.) and Kristina Radeva (Varna, Bulgaria), with their 6-2, 6-4 records respectively, will make a presence on the court. Daniella Sanderson (Valsayn, Trinidad and Tobago) and Jamie Sussman (Glastonbury, CT) round out Adelphi's squad, both finishing .500 or better in ECC competition.

15-14 in doubles competition on the year, Adelphi will look for big efforts from the team of Ribeiro and Megan Margino (Lake Grove, N.Y.). The duo ended the year with a four game winning streak, finishing 5-2 overall. Sanderson and Sussman as a pair were undefeated during the season in ECC competition.

Queens College will host the ECC Championship matches at their campus in Flushing, New York, beginning on Wednesday, October 10 and going through Saturday, October 13. Day one and two will be for team play, while day three, October 13, will be ECC Individual Flight Championship. For more information on the tournament, please visit www.eccsports.org.
